Antique Hand-Painted Wooden Birdcage (c. 1900–1925)

A Story of Freedom Preserved in Wood and Wire

This is not décor.

This is a survivor.

Crafted in the early twentieth century, this tall, architectural birdcage was built in a time when beauty was not printed, it was carved. When objects were not assembled in minutes, they were shaped with patience. And when even functional pieces carried the mark of the human hand.

The solid wood frame features original hand-painted floral motifs, authentic aged patina, and a sculptural domed wire crown that gives this piece a cathedral-like presence. Its proportions are rare. Its character is impossible to reproduce.

This is no reproduction.
No manufactured aging.
No modern shortcuts.

Every wire, joint, and brushstroke tells a story.

Once, something small and living called this home.
Now, it carries a story larger than itself.

We restored this piece not to erase its past, but to honor it.
To preserve its scars.
To protect its voice.

It stands today as a physical reminder of a spiritual truth:

Freedom is not something we decorate. It is something we are given.

  • This birdcage is not an accent.
    It is a witness.
