This set of three mid-century architectural prints depicts historic Pennsylvania scenes associated with the Valley Forge region. Each print is titled and signed in pencil by the artist, whose signature appears to read “Taylor.”
The bold black linework and carved textures suggest a relief printing process, most likely linocut or woodblock. The prints show classic characteristics of hand-pulled relief prints, including subtle ink variation and soft edge compression where the inked surface met the paper.
Subjects in the series include:
• Washington’s Headquarters – Valley Forge
• Stone Bridge – Valley Forge
• Old Pump – Dutch Country
The compositions reflect the Colonial Revival interest in early American architecture that was especially popular from the 1930s through the 1950s. Prints like these were often produced by regional artists and sold near historic sites and museums as decorative reminders of America’s early history.
Each print is titled and signed in pencil and presented in matching frames. Together they form a cohesive grouping well suited for traditional, colonial, or farmhouse interiors.
Condition is very good for age with normal light toning to the paper consistent with mid-century prints.
A wonderful decorative set celebrating early Pennsylvania architecture and American history.
